Emma Lindegaard

Emma is a self-taught ceramic artist working from her home studio in Waylyup/Fremantle. Her objects are built entirely by hand, using the coiling method and minimal tools over multiple days, allowing space for spontaneity, intuition, and experimentation to inform the final piece. As a result, each work is a unique expression, often led by exploration of negative space, organic curves, and clean lines.

Jo at home

I had the pleasure of visiting Jo Buick at her home and photographing her once again, this time at 9 months pregnant! It's amazing to see how much she has grown since we last captured her earlier in her pregnancy.

Jo's home is a beautiful space, filled with stunning pottery made by her partner Enrique. We couldn't resist taking some photos of the gorgeous pieces, which added a lovely touch to our shoot.

I first met Jo when she commissioned me to create her wedding ring, and I was immediately drawn to her energy and spirit.  For those who don't know, Jo is a facilitator, somatics practitioner, and the founding director of the non-profit organisation, Collective Being. Her work is centred around cultivating embodied presence and connection.

Jo took some time to share some reflections on her journey…

Chloe at home

Morning light at home with Chloe in her Brunswick apartment in Melbourne.

“I’m a very visual person. I like to keep a clear and organised space. No clutter and a place for everything. I find this helps me to focus.

I am most productive when I’m being present. Focusing on the task at hand and not too distracted by external influences. The “do not disturb” function on my phone is a useful friend at the moment.”

Tiana at home

Summer time with Tiana in her inner Melbourne home in Fitzroy. Enjoying some tea and bathing in the sunshine.

“I like my daily rituals to be fluid and to adapt to my daily needs and feeling in my body. Often, it includes drinking chinese herbs in the morning and evening, brushing my hair, applying some face oil and if appropriate, some sort of movement. This might be qigong, walking, pilates or yoga. ”

Ro Noonan

We visited the studio and the private home of Ro Noonan for our campaign- edition /2. Even before we delve into his sublime catalogue of artistic projects, these spaces says much about the Melbourne’s based artists enthusiasm and style. For years, we have have admired his creative language, working between sculpture and painting, he has an innate preoccupation with materials, in particular the excess and the bi-products of construction: cut offs, supports and general debris.

Conservatory with Emma

Sunny Sunday morning at Fitzroy Gardens conservatory with writer and dancer Emma Sullivan. ☼

“Someone once told me they used to go through a whole ballet barre combination in their head to help them bring back a sense of calm and balance to their mind. The repetitive combinations of articulating your fingers, bending your knees and pointing your toes brought on a meditative state for them. It made me realise, during my many years of ballet training, I had started my day off by emptying my mind just by taking myself to the barre and warming up my body – it wasn’t only preparing me for class but it was preparing my psyche for the day ahead too.”
